In light of the recent information published regarding the events that took place in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, the collective of friends, cultural professionals, and the national and international Hip Hop community wish to state the following:

 

Condolences and Respect:

We express our deepest sorrow for the passing of Neus, mother of our colleague Alfonso. Her loss is a tragedy that affects us all and, especially, her son, who is facing this grief under the most difficult circumstances imaginable.

 

Defense of the Presumption of Innocence:

We remind everyone that the presumption of innocence is a fundamental right recognized in our Constitution and within the legal framework of the European Union. We deeply regret the parallel trials and the dissemination of unverified information that seek to condemn Alfonso before justice has had the opportunity to clarify the facts.

 

Trajectory and Human Profile:

Alfonso, known artistically as LEUR, is an essential figure in Spanish Hip Hop, a pioneer of Beatbox, and an educator who has dedicated much of his life to social, cultural, and community‑driven projects. His empathetic nature, work ethic, and commitment to the values of urban culture are incompatible with the distorted image that certain sectors have attempted to project.

 

Confidence in Justice:

We are convinced that the judicial investigation will demonstrate the absence of criminal responsibility on Alfonso’s part in this tragic domestic accident. Alfonso is a person in full possession of his faculties, with no prior conditions that would justify the erroneous narratives of “abandoning treatment” that have been circulated.

 

Call for Responsibility:

We urge the media and public institutions to act with rigor and sensitivity. We are not asking for preferential treatment, but for the immediate end to the stigmatization of a citizen who, in addition to facing the loss of his mother, is currently under a preventive detention measure that we consider disproportionate given his full willingness to cooperate with the justice system.
